まずは、ディフェンディング・チャンピオン、ヴァンダレイ・シウバから。
. 'It is going to be me (obviously), Ricardo Arona, Mauricio Shogun and Alistair Overeem' predicts Wand.
俺にとっては（予想するのは）簡単なように思えるね。ヒカルド・アローナ、マウリシオ・ショーグン、そしてアリスター・オーフレイムが勝つ。
と断言。ショーグンvsホジェリオについては、
'It is going to be a very tough fight. But Shogun is very strong and fast. If he goes forward like he did against Quinton Jackson, I believe he is going to win'
タフな試合になることは間違いないが、ショーグンには力もあるしスピードもある。ショーグンがクイントン・ランペイジ・ジャクソン戦のような戦い方をできたなら、きっと勝つだろう。
とも、ショーグン勝利に自信。確かにジャクソン戦のショーグンは強かったな。
次はアメリカで放送されるPPVではコメンテーターを務めるバス・ルッテン。ルッテンはヴァンダレイン・シウバを本命に挙げたが、じゃあ2番手はと言う問いに対して、
"I think the Mauricio 'Shogun' and Nogueira is going to be an unbelievable fight. The winner between those two has a real good chance to win the whole thing.
マウリシオ・ショーグンとホジェリオ・ノゲイラの試合は信じられないような試合になるだろうね。この試合の勝者は優勝のチャンスに大きく近づいたと言えると思うよ。

また、桜庭和志ｖｓヒカルドアローナ戦については、
"The only way I can see him pulling it off is make Ricardo tire. I don't know how he's going to do it, work circles around him because Arona is so powerful and strong. His striking is not super crisp, but he only needs to connect. Once he connects you will go down. I mean there's so much aggressive power behind it.
桜庭選手が勝つとすれば方法は一つしかない。それは、アローナを疲れさせることだね。でも、桜庭がどうやってアローナを疲れさせればいいのかは分からないよ。まあ、例えばアローナの周囲を回るような展開だろう。というのは、アローナにはパワーがあるからね。アローナの打撃はそれほど強いものでもないけれど、組み付きさえすればテイクダウンを奪うことができる。それ位強い力を持っているってことさ。
と桜庭不利を予想。ぐるぐる回るって1回目のヒクソン戦に高田が受けたアドバイスじゃんか。
他に中村和裕vsヴァンダレイ・シウバ戦では「中村は打ち合いに来るだろうけれど、シウバに打撃があたるとは思えない」と評しているのだが、興味深かったのはアリスター・オーフレイムvsイゴール・ボブチャンチン戦評。
"I don't know if that's a good match up for Vovchanchyn."
このマッチメイクがボブチャンチンにとって有利なものとなるかどうかはよく分からないな。
